Pool Time!

For the last 2 weeks we started our summer time with swimming lessons. Raven had her class while Romana and I had ours. We broke out our suits, slathered sunscreen all over ourselves and booked it to the pool for some cool fun under the Georgia hot sun. Swimming lessons were on base and it was a very nice pool. They even had a couple of slides. Romana went down the slide with our instructor. I was a little nervous since Romana was the youngest child in our class. She did well though. Raven has enjoyed her class as well. She also went down the slide and had a blast. Today Raven and her class put on lifejackets and jumped off the diving board. It was a scary moment for most of those kids including Raven. One kid had to be pushed off the diving board because it was clear that she wasn't able to do it by herself. LOL! Sometimes that first step is always the hardest.

As you can see, Romana is wondering what all the fuss is about and would like mom to hold her cause her mouth hurts. Getting 3 to 4 teeth in at once. OUCH! Heath Van Horn girls posing before entering the freezing cold pool. BURRRR!

Romana is wanting to be let down to roam free. Mom, as usual, won't allow it.

Entering the freezing waters of Warner Robins Air Force Base. WOW! THAT WATER IS COLD!

SURF'S UP!!

Raven is delicately entering the pool and holding on to the side. Raven was the oldest and tallest in her class so everyone was jealous that she could touch the bottom.

Practicing her kicking. Being able to splash is highly important in water survival training.

Trying to warm up by moving to the song, "The Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round."

Raven is giving us a very sunny smile and enjoying her time in the pool. In the words of Raven, "I wish we could have swimming lessons everyday for the whole summer."

Mom and daughter enjoying getting cool in the water. Well, at least mom is. Romana is still wondering what all the fuss is about.

Here is Raven trying very hard to obey the instructer.
